The company was formerly known as DONG Energy A/S and changed its name to Ørsted A/S in November 2017. Ørsted A/S was founded in 1972 and is headquartered in Fredericia, Denmark.

The Danish wind energy producer Ørsted has seen an impressive price performance YTD, on improved financial performance and easing of policy conditions. Its just-released Q1 2026 results reflect robust revenue growth and improvements in EBITDA, while a positive EBITDA outlook adds to optimism on the company. The Revolution Wind project, which was stopped by the US government last year before getting a go-ahead from the courts, has now become operational, which is a positive for the company.
