Allianz SE·Financial Services

Allianz is sticking with a bullish bet on UK bonds and Royal London is buying more, as major buyers of British government debt bet that memories of a gilt market meltdown in 2022 will curb the fiscal ambitions of any potential new prime minister.

The Allianz 2025 Annual Retirement Study put a number on something many Americans already felt: confidence in their financial future has eroded at a measurable rate.

Allianz SE is fundamentally strong but currently overvalued, trading at a premium unjustified by its growth outlook and sector risks. Management's cautious guidance for flat operating profit and rising insolvency risks signal limited near-term upside and heightened volatility. Persistent macro, climate, and litigation headwinds pressure Allianz's P&C division, which continues to underperform relative to cost of capital.

Germany's Allianz on Wednesday reported a 52% rise in first-quarter net profit, supported by gains linked to the sale of stakes in its Indian joint ventures and strong performance in its property and casualty and asset management businesses. The insurer said it remained on track to achieve its full-year operating profit target despite weaker revenues in its life and health division.

Europe's largest insurer by market capitalization booked €3.69 billion in net profit attributable to shareholders in the first quarter.
