SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 18, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GSI Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: GSIT), the inventor of the Associative Processing Unit (APU), a paradigm shift in artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance compute processing, providing true compute-in-memory technology, announced it has been awarded Phase I of a Smart City project by the Hsinchu County government in Taiwan.

GSIT incurs fiscal Q4 loss per share due to elevated research and development expenses, partly offset by growing AI chip and defense sector demand.

GSI Technology delivered solid SRAM growth in Q4 and secured a key drone defense grant to prove their APU application with the US military. SRAM business grew 22% for the fiscal year, supporting R&D for the Gemini-III (Plato) platform, with reduced Q4 R&D expenses reducing net operating losses. SBIR grant win is a validation for the market of GSIT's APU technology in drones, targeting a June demonstration for the Department of Defense.
